Nevertheless, however, the smart phone's relatively larger energy-consuming than ordinary mobile phones. Here are some tips to make your Storm2 efficient battery:
  1. Manage your connection
Turn off 3G if you're not using data services. If not too important, you can choose my level services underneath (2G). You can change it through the Manage Connections option on the Home Screen. Make sure you have turned off Bluetooth and Wi-fi.

  2. "Rest" while you sleep
You can save the battery if you turn off before you sleep. Make sure it lights up before you wake up from sleep, so do not waste your time before going on the move.

  3. Continue using and adjust the holster profile settings
To specify notification sound and vibration, you are given the option In Holster, Holster Out, and Always on your BlackBerry. You will save more battery is like you are more likely to use voice notification (In Holster) than vibration (Out Holster), because the vibrations take more power than the voice.

  4. Reduce the level of Brightness

Minimize the possibility of mobile phone radiation

There is no research which states that the final radiation generated by mobile phones detrimental effect on health. However, it is better if we start to prevent the possibility of adversely affected by radiation from the outset. There are some things we can do.
  1. Use speakers or headset
Headset phones do not emit as much radiation. The researchers still do not agree to say which is more secure, whether the headset is using a cable or not. Because it is said, the headset cable is still out with radiation, even on a small level. So, if in a state of quiet, and not disturb other people, it is better if you occasionally answer the phone using the speaker mode.

  2. Expand listening, speaking subtract
Mobile phones emit radiation when you are talking, but does not emit radiation while it is receiving the message. So, try to listen more when talking with the phone, rather than talking.

  3. SMS
The phone does not use much energy when we send the text rather than when the phone asked to send our voice. The radiation released was also reduced. Moreover, when we are typing an SMS, which means that we held the phone away from our heads.

  4. Arm's length
When you use the headset to answer the phone, try to keep the phone from the ears, chest, or waist. These parts, including parts of the stomach is the body that easily absorbs radiation. Try to keep a mobile phone via a headset is receiving from your stomach.

  5. No need protection
When you use protective gloves in addition to the phone, meaning you close the phone lines to be able to work optimally. That is, he will try harder to find the signal, so that more radiation that he remove it.

  6. Turn off the phone when there is no signal
When the phone can not receive enough signal, he must issue to find a faster business towers. That means more emissions that he remove it. When you have to use the phone, try the signal is in full condition. Moreover, the phone too long trying to find a signal will only be spent batteries.

Alcatel-Lucent Launches 100G Optical Backbone Fibre

Alcatel-Lucent has announced the first commercially available solution to carry a single carrier 100 gigabit per second (100G) on a wavelength through the use of emerging 'Next-Generation Coherent' technology. Designed to address the booming bandwidth demands, next-generation coherent technology is the next step in 100G optical networking, offering unprecedented resilience to optical transmission impairments across the network.

This enables 100G rates on each wavelength, supporting for example the transfer of over 100,000 MP3 files in 60 seconds or over 15,000 HDTV channels concurrently streamed live.

Single carrier next-generation coherent technology also offers significantly higher integration and longer transmission reach with significantly lower network complexity, operational costs and power consumption. Next-generation coherent technology also delivers unprecedented compatibility between 100G and lower speed transport infrastructures (such as 10G and 40G).

"Driven by increasing network bandwidth demands, service providers are looking for future-proof backbone infrastructures that can effectively scale in capacity and reach without requiring expensive network overbuilds," said Dana Cooperson, Vice-President Network Infrastructure at Ovum. "Infrastructure that can adapt easily to include coherent 100G (and 40G) transmission and scale to multi-terabits, such as Alcatel-Lucent has announced as ready for deployment, is essential to enabling tomorrow's high-bandwidth applications. And as one of only a few leaders in both IP/MPLS and optical infrastructure, Alcatel-Lucent is in a good position to advance the close integration of the IP and optical layers to further optimize networks."

Currently available on the 1830 Photonic Service Switch (PSS), this technology, which leverages innovations from the Bell Labs, Alcatel-Lucent's research arm and in-house developments in optical networking, is also being deployed on all of Alcatel-Lucent's dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) platforms.

Underscoring today's launch, the 100G-capable Alcatel-Lucent 1830 PSS has been selected by Japan's Softbank Telecom to upgrade its backbone network. Additionally, Alcatel-Lucent's next-generation coherent technology has already been successfully tested with Tier-1 customers worldwide, including Telefonica.

Fitch Affirms Telkom Indonesia's Debt with Stable Outlook

Fitch Ratings has today affirmed Telekomunikasi Indonesia's (Telkom) foreign and local currency Issuer Default Ratings (IDRs) at 'BB+' with Stable Outlook. At the same time the agency has affirmed Telkom's senior unsecured rating at 'BB+'.

Telkom's ratings reflect its diversified operations and entrenched position in the Indonesian telecom sector, with leading market shares in cellular, fixed-line and data services. Its consolidated profile is heavily influenced by its GSM cellular business, through its 65% subsidiary Telekomunikasi Selular (Telkomsel), which accounted for around 61% of the group's total revenue and 75% of EBITDA in 2009.

Fitch notes that the growth in Telkom's voice revenue in fixed line (wireline and wireless) and GSM cellular was curtailed by the voice tariff war in Indonesia in 2008. The company's fixed-line telephone segment registered negative revenue growth of 11.2% in 2009, and declined by a further 6.7% in Q110. Cellular telephone revenue growth (excluding data/SMS and internet revenue) was only 7.4% in 2009 and 2.9% in Q110. Accordingly, the management is transforming its business strategy by expanding into other related industries such as information, media and edutainment. As a result, the company's key revenue growth has been shifting toward internet broadband and data services. These recorded stronger revenue growth of about 25% yoy in 2009 and Q110, increasing the revenue contribution from these sectors to 30.1% in Q110 from 24.2% in 2008.

Underpinned by its high cash flow from operations averaging IDR27.3trn annually during 2007-2009, Telkom has been able to maintain its exceptionally strong credit metrics, with funds from operations (FFO) net adjusted leverage at 0.9x and FFO net interest coverage at 21.9x in FY09. During 2007-2009, Telkom spent about IDR17.4trn on capex annually; however, it remained pre-dividend free cash flow (FCF) positive, and marginally FCF negative post-dividend in 2008-2009, primarily due to the higher dividend pay-out ratio. Although the company's capex programme will remain high at about IDR20trn in 2010 to support its business transformation, Fitch Ratings expects the company's leverage and interest coverage to remain strong for its rating category.

At end-March 2010, the company held cash reserves of IDR6.8trn against maturities of IDR7.8trn and capital commitments of IDR7.9trn in 2010. However, Fitch believes that Telkom's short-term liquidity remains solid as it continues to generate strong positive pre-dividend FCF and has strong access to bank and capital market funding.

The Stable Outlook reflects the Outlook on the Indonesian sovereign ratings.

Telkom's foreign- and local currency IDRs are effectively capped by the respective IDRs on the sovereign, given Indonesian government's majority holding in the company (52.47% at end-March 2010) and the significant influence it exerts on the company's business and financial matters, and management control. Any upgrade or downgrade of the sovereign ratings would result in a similar change in Telkom's ratings. Positive rating factors would include a reduction of the government's stake to below 50%, including a waiver of rights associated with the Series A share. Conversely, any evidence of political interference leading to actions detrimental to the interests of creditors, such as a significant increase in dividend payout, and/or any significant debt-funded acquisition, would be negative for its ratings.

The proposed consolidation of Telkom's CDMA business with Bakrie Telecom's is unlikely to impact Telkom's ratings given the capping of its current ratings by Indonesia' sovereign ratings.
